NOMA Brand Content Image

Project overview

NOMA is a household goods brand that is owned and distributed by Canadian Tire, one of the largest retail companies in Canada. Quick Clip Christmas lights are one of NOMA's flagship products.

My role

Objective

Canadian Tire was seeking to launch NOMA products in the US and drive sales primarily through a new e-commerce website and Amazon.

Strategy

Showcasing the NOMA story and value propositions to establish trust and awareness of the brand in the US. Facilitating the transition from consideration to conversion through complete and easily accessible product details and specs. Increasing traffic through an audience-centric and seasonal SEO strategy.

Results

Increased sales of a kaleidoscope bulb by 108% and made it the 5th bestseller in its category on Amazon and an Amazon's Choice product. Sold out Christmas products weeks before the end of December. Optimized product listings for NOMA lights and Christmas decorations so that they consistently made the team's top 10 bestseller list.

Enhanced Brand Content

NOMA Quick Clip Christmas lights were one of the key product lines I focused on. I started by analyzing the products, competitors, and market to identify the key benefits that would appeal to the U.S. market, differentiate this product from competitors, and connect with NOMA's brand values of convenience, saving time and energy, and innovation.

To highlight these features and educate customers on the brand and products, I did copywriting and image editing and designed graphics with Photoshop and Illustrator to create the following Enhanced Brand Content (now known as A+ Content) for Amazon product listings:

I also illustrated an infographic with Adobe Illustrator to show how the Quick Clip technology works:

This content helped to establish awareness and trust in the NOMA brand and make Quick Clip Christmas lights a key driver of US sales. The Quick Clip Christmas lights regularly made the team's weekly top 10 bestselling products list and most were sold out weeks before Christmas.

Product detail pages

To increase visibility and sales for products listed on Amazon, I did search engine optimized copywriting, image editing, and graphic design. I used Amazon Brand Analytics, Google Trends, and Sonar Tool to identify the best keywords and wove them organically into product titles and descriptions. Through A/B testing, I discovered that using keywords that match seasonal demand and including product images with measurements and captions boosted sales.

When I found that a kaleidoscope bulb only had two product photos due to limited resources, I took my own detail shots of the product, edited them, and created product images with captions and measurements.

After I implemented the new product images and search engine optimized copy for the NOMA kaleidoscope bulb, sales of the product increased by 108% and it became the 5th bestselling product in its category and an Amazon's Choice product in just three days.
