UBC Sauder Co-op Recruitment Videos

Highlighting Co-op job opportunities to engage prospective students and employer partners

The UBC Sauder Co-op Program gives Bachelor of Commerce students the opportunity to gain a year of full-time work experience from three four-month work terms before graduating.

Students gain professional skills and networking opportunities with one-on-one coaching, a community of mentors, and access to Co-op workshops and events. The Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre partners with employers who hire Co-op students and provides support throughout the hiring process and work terms.

My role

I coordinated marketing, recruitment, and student engagement teams to develop key messaging for four videos. I created interview questions, conducted the interviews, and managed external videographers, students, employers, and staff to produce the videos for promoting the school and Co-op Program through paid ads and organic social media.

Project overview

Objectives

Showcase the UBC Sauder Co-op Program's key values and the benefits and opportunities for students and employers. Increase awareness of the Co-op Program for prospective students and employers.

Strategy

Featured student and employer testimonials through video interviews for social proof and authenticity. Connected the support, resources, and relationships that the Co-op Program offers with long-term career and staffing outcomes. Segmented key messaging into bite-sized videos with a focused topic for each one, targeting prospective students on organic social media, and employers with paid ads.

Results

Achieved a high level of audience engagement, gaining over 211,376 impressions on LinkedIn Ads with an average completion rate of 29%, which is triple the industry average. Attained above average organic social media engagement with 239 likes on Instagram and 92 likes on LinkedIn.
